Description: Unless, of course, if one of the friends was smart enough to have a tape record running. Such was the case when Brazil's television pioneer Geraldo Case organized one of his famous informal evenings of music at his house, somewhere in the late fifties. The youngsters were Baden Powell (21 years old) and a young singer-songwriter Dolores Duran (all of twenty) Dolores had already made a name for her self having written several songs with Jobim and had cut several singles both in English and Portuguese. But this night was going to be something special and lucky for us, we now have the results, for the first time on CD! We hear Dolores during the peak of her career accompanied by an amazing bunch of musicians. In addition to Baden Powell, there are several others from Brazil and Portugal included. We hear five songs from the Great American Songbook including "How Hight the Moon" and "Cry Me a River". Dolores' fame stretched as far as the United States, in face, her version of "My Funny Valentine" was considered by Ella Fitzgerald, to be the definitive performance of the song!
